Spotlight on Forest School

Forest school has been going from strength to strength this year with plenty of opportunities for the children at Park Road to get involved.
We asked Mrs Preston to tell us a little more about what has been happening.
Well we have officially sprung into spring in forest school at Park Road! We have enjoyed watching the season change and the forest area change with it.
Year 4 have been using their creative skills to create some wonderful works of forest art. They have also used their problem solving skills in a challenge to see which team could move the most water from one tub to another, using only tyres, gutters and pipes, the children connected so well together in their teams, helping and encouraging each other.
There was much fun had in mud splat target practice too, with some very muddy children at the end of it!
The whole school enjoyed a Easter forest school extravaganza! All the children got to do an Easter hunt, and decorated a pebble that is in the process of being used to create a collaborative Forest school sign!
Year 5 have been enjoying new games in the forest, and had a go at building mini rafts that they experimented with in the water tray to see if they floated, there were some excellent designs, all very unique in the techniques used!
It been fabulous watching the children's self confidence grow and watching them explore their interests, whilst developing their own learning.
Great work everyone!
